- After ups and downs traversing French and Swiss Alps, we drove to Provence. As everything on this trip, a 5 minute googling of Provence led us to Gordes, apparently one of the most beautiful villages there. Well - decide for yourself! Stepping out of the car, I had to close my eyes and breath in the smell of pine and cyprus trees, thyme, oregano and other Mediterranean herbs, and feel the warm dry air that makes one want to stick around here for a while and dream of coming back!
